BLOG HOP: 25 things you might not know about me…

My friend Christine, of Everyday Mama, posted a blog hop. I typically wouldn’t have participated, but when I read her list I realized that we had two things in common … we are both Gamma Phi Beta sorority sisters (different schools) and both have a major phobia of birds. I loved learning this, so decided to join in! Here are 25 things you might not know about me …

1. My middle name was Vanessa before I got married. Then I dropped it and now my maiden name is my middle name.
2. I prefer vanilla soy milk in my Earl Grey tea.
3. I am only 5’2″.
4. I played outside hitter on my high school varsity volleyball team. I might be “vertically challenged,” but I can jump pretty high.
5. My first job after I graduated from university was as a marketing manager for a contemporary theatre in San Francisco while I interned for them as a production assistant in the evenings.
6. My favorite Disney character is the Cheshire Cat.
7. I am deathly allergic to cats (and grass pollen).
8. I have a first degree blue belt in Tang Soo Do.
9. Mexican food is my weakness.
10. I love the beach, but really love the beach on a cold day. There is nothing more cozy to me than being bundled up in a sweater and warm blanket watching the waves.
11. I suck at talking on the phone.
12. My favorite color is a raspberry pink.
13. I am a Virgo and born in the year of the Rabbit.
14. I am right handed, but because of tendinitis in my right forearm I have to use my left hand when using a mouse.
15. My favorite music is 80′s Madonna, Michael Jackson, Prince, and U2.
16. I modeled for 3 years when I was a teenager, but quit when I lost out on a swimsuit contract to a blue eyed blond.
17. I have been wearing the same hamsa bracelet for 3 years and have only taken it off a handful of times.
18. I am a project manager for a software company, but probably should be in a much more creative job.
19. I have never broken a bone in my body.
20. My favorite animal is an elephant. Some day I would love to visit the Elephant Nature Park in Thailand.
21. By the time I graduated from high school I had completed over 300 hours of volunteer work. Working with non-profit organizations is still a passion of mine.
22. My favorite ice cream is Ben & Jerry’s Vanilla Caramel Fudge.
23. I am first generation Filipino-American, but have never visited the Philippines and cannot speak Tagalog.
24. I am also part French and Chinese which is why most people think I look Hawaiian.
25. Only a few of you know how old I really am … and I am not about to tell you now!
