They say life imitates art. Well, I didn’t really intend for my life to imitate the book Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert …
I left my marriage and went through a nasty divorce. I fell in love and had my heart broken by a younger man. I have spent the past year of trying to find my center and self being. I am on the verge of another thirtysomething birthday. And, tonight I fly to Bali.
When my dear friend of 19 years, Chamorro Chica, invited me to her Bali destination wedding I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. I have always wanted to see the Island of the Gods! In fact it is #2 on my “Places to Travel To” list.
Do I think I will find inner peace and have a wonderful love affair in 10 days? No, but I am going to give it my best shot!
My goal for this trip is take some yoga classes, checking out lots of temples and witness ceremonies, getting lots of massages, fill up my camera’s SD card, eat amazing Indonesian food, sleep, spend time with friends while making new ones, and do some serious relaxing. It is time to clear out the pain in my heart so that there is room for the wonderful things Bali has to offer.
