in So You Think You Can Dance

Let me start by saying I hate that So You Think You Can Dance is only one night a week. I want more! It is strange to me that dancers who have been voted off have to perform before they are told “sorry America didn’t like you”. I liked that the judges made the final call of who is eliminated. I loved seeing them “dance for their lives”.

Lindsay & Cole
Choreographer: Christopher Scott
Style: Hip Hop

She is incredibly sexy, but not quite Jennifer Aniston’s character in Horrible Bosses. He played a great nerdy character. What a fun routine! I think it was really well danced considering she is a trained ballroom dancer and his is a martial arts dancer.

Amelia & Will
Choreographer: Sonya Tayeh
Style: Jazz

Incredible routine and it was beautifully danced by both of them! It was emotional and heart wrenching. The relationship between these two dancers was so believable and constantly connected.

Amber & Nick
Choreographer: Miriam Larici & Leonardo Barrionuevo
Style: Tango

Man, I love a sultry tango! Both of them did so well with their character that I didn’t even recognize them! It was passionate and mature. He was so strong and masculine. Her legs were spectacular!

Audrey & Matthew
Choreographer: Sonya Tayeh
Style: Jazz

What is so amazing about this routine is the details. How he moved her leg with his foot. The “stank step” as Nigel called. How her back rippled. The strength they had from their fingertips to their toes. These two dancers blew me away last week and have blown me away again this week.

Janelle & Dareian
Choreographer: Christopher Scott
Style: Lyrical Hip Hop

Very adorable routine and hard to believe it is hip hop. It was hard to see her movements with what she was dressed in. I thought he did a great job. Not a bar raiser, but not bad.

Janaya & Brandon
Choreographer: Sean Cheesman
Style: Broadway

That was some fantastic acrobatic pairing! They stayed in character and danced it very well. This will be a lot more memorable than last week’s routine.

Eliana & Cyrus
Choreographer: Melanie Lapatin & Tony Meredith
Style: Jive

Oh $#@! You know, he did way better than I expected him to do considering he has never partnered and is still very new to choreography. He did a great job being there for her the entire time. You could tell he was really thinking hard during the performance. If he relaxed and moved to the music I think he would have been great. She is a firecracker!

Daniel & Alexa
Choreographer: Dee Caspary
Style: Contemporary

It was danced perfectly. Maybe it was the lack of chemistry or lack of character. But I got bored watching it. I actually looked away from the TV and started voting. I did not find myself swept up in the dance.

Tiffany & George
Choreographer: Melanie Lapatin & Tony Meredith
Style: Foxtrot

Well, I don’t know a thing about this style other than Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. This looked good, but it didn’t wow me enough to vote for them.

Witney & Chehon
Choreographer: Nakul Dev Mahajan
Style: Bollywood
Their thighs must burn from this routine! It is amazing how fast their feet move, but they are not bouncing up and down. This style is spectacular to watch and these two dancers did a spectacular job!

Girl Crush, Cat Deeley, looked like a tall blonde goddess, but the color of her face matched her dress. Too much spray tan or a sunburn? Adam Shankman called her “A big sexy tomato”.

I was right about two out of the four dancers who were eliminated this week. This time around I predict that Janelle and Dareian will be leaving the show! Do you agree?

Finally, (can’t believe I am saying this) who is going to see Step Up Revolution with me?!?!?!

I CANNOT WAIT until Step Up 4 comes out! Will totally see it with you!
You read my recap so you know how I feel about the one night thing – HATE IT! I LOVE Dareian and don’t think he’s going home anytime soon. Brnadon needs to go. That Sean Cheesman dance with him and Janaya was cute but there was barely any dancing in it at all. So glad to have a fellow SYTYCD fanatic! xoxo
