Try something new this Easter with brown eggs

Easter is this Sunday! That means it is time to color eggs. This year we are attempting to try something different. Instead of dying standard white eggs we are trying brown eggs courtesy of the happy egg co.

Did you know that hens come in different colors? There are white hens, brown hens, speckled charcoal gray hens, and deep red hens. The eggs they lay are like their color.

The biggest difference I noticed about the happy egg co.’s brown eggs is how strong the shell is. I was pressing pretty hard with the Magic Crayon and none of the shells cracked. The eggs has to sit in the dye longer for the color to become as vibrant as we wanted. It also meant that the shell peels off easily (if you can’t wait to eat one of the newly hard boiled eggs).

The eggs turned out beautiful! Unlike the super technicolor Easter eggs white shells become, the brown eggs have a classic and antique look while still vibrant.

Why should you buy the happy egg co. brown eggs? These eggs are Certified Humane, and come from free-range hens that roam outdoors on grass. They don’t use antibiotics or hormones, and the hens are given vegetarian feed. Happy birds make delicious eggs and a better world.

Special thanks to the happy egg co. for providing us with eggs, a PAAS dye kit and Easter basket. All statements are my opinion and my opinion only. I did not receive any other form of compensation.
