Fashion Valley, a Simon Mall, invited me to attend their Fashion in the Valley fashion show on September 20th. The runway featured the key fall styles from 24 of the shops in the mall including the new Tommy Hilfiger store. On the runway, Tommy Hilfiger’s fall collection stays true to his signature East Coast prep style. The models featured classic blazers, button down shirts, and pencil skirt with fresh colors for fall including a gorgeous vibrant pink. For the men the casual outfit was topped of with a bow tie and for the women it was all about feminine men’s wear.
On Monday, I was invited to the new Tommy Hilfiger store in Fashion Valley to try on some of the signature fall items and take home a couple of my favorite pieces!
The store is gorgeous and much bigger than I expected it to be. The displays evoke a “Fall at Harvard” style with stacks of books and dogs made out of ivy leaves. The merchandisers took a lot of consideration on what pieces to sell in the store so that they can caters to the San Diego shopper. There is less heavy cold weather clothes, but lots of tailored shirts, color block sweaters and quilted vests for layering.
Tommy Hilfiger has updated their jeans and introduced corduroy in different colors this fall along with lots of color blocking on shirts, skirts, and dresses. I really loved the vibrant pink scattered throughout the collection. It seemed to go with everything … maybe pink is the new black?! The store also carries quite a collection of accessories from beautiful handbags, scarves, ties, belts, sunglasses, watches and shoes. And, coming this November the store will also offer the children’s collection!
My in-store stylist pulled so many amazing pieces of clothing, shoes and accessories. It was hard to resist buying everything I tried on since the fit was surprisingly perfect. I loved how the jeans and corduroy had a bit of stretch. Each of the tops had interesting details like loose neck ties or peek-a-boo prints on the wrist. What really stood out to me in the fall collection are the 60s retro style dresses. The simple chevron print and center color stripes are so flattering. The material is incredible quality and machine washable.
So what did I take home? Two items I just couldn’t live without … herringbone skinny jeans and pink pointy toe flats!
Huge thank you to my friends at Tommy Hilfiger in San Diego Fashion Valley for showing me your store and bringing more color into my life. You can bet I will be back for one (or more) of those dresses before the season is over!
