I have always wanted to have long, thick, perfectly curled eyelashes. Instead mine are straight, like really straight. The eyelash curler is my one beauty must have. Unfortunately, I am limited on what mascaras I can use because most will take any curl out of my lashes.

For a while I was getting my eyelashes permed, usually before a vacation. I had to stop because the perm solution would aggravate the eczema in the corners of my eyes. I used Latisse for a few months and my eyelashes got crazy long, but they are still straight as a pin.

To be honest I won’t leave the house without curling my eyelashes. My whole face looks tired if they aren’t curled. I knew gluing in false lashes wouldn’t help (and could really damage) my real ones, but then I heard about lash extensions from one of my best friends. Her lashes always look amazing at any time of the day. So, when Blink Lash Boutique approached me to try out their new salon in Solana Beach I couldn’t pass up the opportunity.

I started with Blink’s Bashful set, which is 35 lashes per eye. Check out my before and after photos:

Blink Lash Boutique - Bashful

It took about 45 minutes for the lash stylist to clean my lashes, glue in the extensions and cure the glue. Don’t worry if you have very sensitive skin around your eyes, each lash extension is glued to an individual real eyelash, not your skin. The lash extension will only fall out when your real eye lash does (so do not rub your eyes). You want to avoid putting any oil based products around or on your new eyelashes so that the glue stays put.

From the moment I walked out of the salon I was in love with my lashes. I didn’t get them much longer than my natural lashes, but I had volume and curl that looked amazing! I wanted more. So, 2 weeks later I popped back into the salon to get upgrade to the Blush set which added 40 more lashes per eye.

You can see in the top two photos that after 2 weeks my first set of extensions were still looking good. The bottom photos shows a significant increase in volume after 40 more lashes were added. My lashes look perfect and gorgeous! I have gotten a lot of compliments and people are surprised when I tell them they are extensions.

I am ready for the next two weeks of holiday parties and you can bet I will be heading in for a refill next month!

Blink Lash Boutique is giving my readers $50 off a first full set of lash extensions! Simply mention that Red Lotus Mama referred you.

SIDE NOTE: I am in a yoga studio every day. Most classes I take are heated, so I am sweating a lot every day. I love that with lash extensions I will always have the perfectly curled lashes I want, but the heat and moisture I am constantly in does affect them. I hope by using a lash sealant my extensions will last a full month. I will let you know how it goes …

Your eyelashes look great now in the pictures! You have mentioned that Latisse has grown your eyelashes long but it’s not curly. I have also used Latisse and it is good for me. But there might be a possibility that you got some problems with that.

Love them! But can you put them yourself next time? I mean, can you do it on your own?

I wish! It would be so nice, but because each one is glued to an individual eyelash there is no way to put them on without help.
